A gorgeous location, lots of nearby dog walks. On the somerset/Devon border. Friendly people in the local area.

Andi,

Amanda is a great host, responsive and helpful. Cottage: great location and beautiful riverside garden/patio. Games room was enjoyed by all.

Lisa,

Lovely cottage, perfect location, perfect for dogs, lots to do, we went to Tarr steps and Lynmouth. Amanda is a great host.

Fran,

Trout Cottage is such a gem! Gorgeous location, spacious and well-appointed, and easy to communicate with the host. We loved exploring Exmoor and the coast near Lynton and Croyde Beach. Watersmeet is a must-see, and the town of Dulverton is super cute. Lots of amazing memories from our stay at Trout Cottage. Thanks, Amanda!

Sierra,

Amanda is a brilliant host. Her communication throughout was outstanding, from before booking the accommodation to the end of our stay. Her cottage is lovely and family friendly. I couldn't have received any better service or accommodation.

Paula,

We had a fantastic family holiday at Amanda's place in Dulverton. The house is situated in an amazing location by the River Barle. The village centre is a short walk away where there's a well stocked Coop and other shops. We found the house had a cosy ambience, more spacious than expected and nice bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped with utensils, pots and pans - more so than other places we've stayed. The road is quite narrow but there's room to park outside and vehicles can pass - just accept this is part of the fun of staying in a steep-sided beautiful forested Exmoor valley. We loved drinking fresh coffee in the mornings sat either in the riverside garden over the road and down some steps, or on a small patio also across the road from the house overlooking the river from above. We saw kingfishers, dippers and herons most days. We also enjoyed paddling around in a kayak on the leat, a narrow channel that directs water from the river towards an old mill I presume. Thanks again Amanda for a great stay!

Martin,

much more space than it looks. just gorgeous, warm, relaxed and well cared for. very accurate descriptions, Dulverton has everything you need - food, pubs, interesting shops, and of course Exmoor is there to explore. Loved it.

Penny,

We had Fab few days away in Amanda’s cottage we loved it and Dulverton is so dog friendly. Games room was brilliant because we had quite a wet few days but great fun , highly recommended, thanks again Amanda xx

Elaine,

Beautiful, clean cottage in an idyllic location with breathtaking surroundings, and lovely people

Thanos,

I stayed in this cottage with my husband and 3 children in the late autumn month and the owner made sure the property was all warm for our arrival. The location is great. The river is such a highlight and you can see it clearly from both double bedrooms! The cottage is off a road but it's not very busy so crossing to the car was fine with children. The cottage was spotless and beds were super comfy with the linen being very clean, white and soft. I had constant use of hot water ..very important when needing a shower! I will be returning again!

Sarah,

What a wonderful weekend we had at trout cottage with my husband his parents and our 5 months old son. Amanda has thought of everything and the cottage was so cosy and welcoming. The local village is only a short walk and was lovely to look around. We went on a walk which is right out the cottage and up a steep incline around the back of the cottage and into the village. We also drove to a local lake and had a little walk around there. We will be sure to recommend trout cottage to anyone looking for something like this. We made lovely memories as a family, so thank you Amanda x

Jenna,

Trout Cottage is the perfect location for an Exmoor escape. It’s so peaceful down by the river and it meant we were all able to unwind and relax! We had a family trip and every one of us enjoyed our stay immensely and are already dying to come back - even though we’ve just left. Thank you Amanda!

Vicky,

A great stay in a lovely location. The cottage had everything we needed and was home from home. Listening to the river on the doorstop was perfect. Lots to do in the area, Tarr Steps , Dunster Castle, Lymington to name a few. Amanda was a great host with tips on the area and very prompt responses. I would thoroughly recommend Trout Cottage for a relaxing weekend in the countryside.

Tim,

Why go to New England for autumn colour when you can see such a beautiful display here? The woodlands absolutely glow. What a lovely cottage in a fantastic place. Well done for finding it.

Catherine and Alan,

Thanks - we had a wonderful stay in your very lovely cottage - very comfortable and cosy. Beautiful walking all around.

Sam,

We have been blessed with beautiful weather and so enjoyed the amazing Autumn colours and scenery of Exmoor. The cottage has been delightful and perfectly suited to our needs. Thank you so much!

Liz and Julian Greening,

Thank you for a wonderful stay in such a beautiful part of the country! The house was brilliant other than the games of pool getting a little too competitive! I will be sure to recommend to friends and family.

Andy and Katie,

Beautiful cottage very homely and well presented. Wonderful position with walks on your doorstep. Host very attentive and thoughtful. Highly recommended. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Your cottage is beautiful and well looked after and presented, it was a real home from home.

Sarah H,

Trout cottage is in a lovely spot near the river with amazing walks on your doorstep. The cottage was exceptionally clean and has been finished to a lovely standard. Everything that you need is provided and Amanda the host was very easy to contact. We didn’t want to leave!

Sarah P,

We had a wonderful time here. We visit Dulverton frequently as much as anything else to experience Woods Bar and Restaurant. (if you haven't gone before then go you're in for a treat) We were a party of 6-adults celebrating a birthday and wanted a rural weekend. Amanda was very attentive and asked us if we wanted anything in particular before we arrived in terms of food or anything else. Access to the property was easy on arrival with a key safe. The location is fabulous, 5-minutes walk from the town centre and right beside the river. The cottage is very tastefully decorated with lovely touches throughout. The 3 double bedrooms are a good size. We always try to find something to feedback to a landlord when we stay anywhere but all we could come up with Amanda was could we have a slightly bigger bin in the kitchen! This location and cottage is ideal for families or parties of adults. Thank you Amanda for a wonderful stay. We'll be back :-)
